Fire In The Sky

“Dusk is just an illusion because the sun is either above the horizon or below it. And that means that day and night are linked in a way that few things are there cannot be one without the other yet they cannot exist at the same time. How would it feel I remember wondering to be always together yet forever apart?”

Words can not even begin to do this sunset justice. Standing in the warm ocean, absorbing the waves as the bright orange roundness engulfs my entire existence with it’s warmth and beauty. Nothing like this moment has been shared with these two eyes. For exactly fifteen minutes, time completely stopped. Everything in your life took a back seat for these images that made your entire body numb.

Any thought that could potentially become a sentence was blurred. Any emotion was put on hold to just breathe listen and see. The other people viewing this serene like atmosphere seemed to stop everything and view as you were. We in life sometimes forget these moments, or worse, take what we have in our very own backyards for granted. Living in a place that has so much to offer is such a wonderful thing. Taking for granted these moments standing in the ocean is just such a waste.

We can look at our current lives, were we currently reside and know that we are not living and taking advantage of our hometown’s offerings. But it’s like that everywhere it seems. Natives never want to truly educate themselves on the grounds in which they were born but traveling to new destinations will bring out the books the searches and the questions to know it all. This is something you’ve done for as long as you can remember and have never truly felt that this place in which you reside is the place you will be for the rest of your life.

It sometimes takes moments like this, frozen still in the ocean for you to fully feel that where you are and where you’re going are two completely different things. Thinking about the snow, the ice, the coldness in which Massachusetts is does not truly excite you. It’s something that’s a constant playback in your brain wondering what the next step should be but in your gut, you already have the answer. You already seem to have a grasp on where you’re taking things and it’s exciting for the possibility to grow a new life on a beach just like this.
