Two Seats = Four

“Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma – which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition.”

The voices seem so loud, but to figure out who truly is speaking will take some time. It’s a two seated journey, but you’re alone among the forty or so others along for this ride. Strong and present is the mix of several perfumes. Like the voices, you can’t make out who they’re attached to.

It’s a lost sensation when you glance around the cramped seats, to listen to the dreams of your neighbors. How is this possible you wonder? Reaching to grab a shoulder of one of the dreamers, you’re warped out of your seat and sent directly into their mind.

So many colors pull your soul from within, allowing it to be by your side, trying to find perspective through somebody else’s heart. You’re faced with a dilemma. Your soul seems to enjoy this place and has no real sign of jumping back to you for your life’s journey.

You know that you can’t make up his mind, so you allow him to stay within the rainbow of opportunity and discover something more about himself. Something more about you. As you leave your soul behind to walk the long road by yourself, the emptiness and sadness seem to take complete precedent, and the resonating warmth and elegant colors are a distant memory.

Not understanding your path has been the reason your soul left. Never living up to your full potential, constantly abusing yourself through lies and disgust is why your soul is no longer with you. These are things that this walk will continue to shine light on, as you figure out the next portions of where your heart will take you.

Knowing that you’re still in someone else’s dream, you start to wonder if you’ll ever find a way to leave the silent chaos of this world. Years have passed and you find yourself at the end of the road. A tree stands tall and firm with two very specific arrows carved in it. There seems to be two numbers under each arrow, but the understanding of the process makes no sense.

For the first time, you hear the voices again that have been lost since embarking on this journey. You smell those perfumes, and find the elements of what you think are your soul coming back to you. The tree starts to shake and you know you only have just a moments time until you will not have another opportunity again.

You push the number 4 and run straight past the tree not knowing if this was the right decision. You leave the nothing that was this journey behind to chase the sensation you’ve longed to embrace again in your old life. But this is the new life. This is the moments in life that you craved to have.

The sweat pours off your face as you sprint down this new road searching for you soul that’s been gone for a decade. About half a block up, you see the bus that you remember being on when this all occurred. You approach ever so slowly, to understand why this was back in your life. The doors open and your soul walks off and says to you “Where have you been? We’ve been waiting for you”
